Board Commitment
Prosper Canada is governed by a volunteer
Board of Directors
committed to our vision of a Canada in which everyone has access to the financial policies, programs, products, and advice they need to build their financial wellbeing.
As Board members, we believe that dedicated volunteers and staff who are knowledgeable and passionate about our work are our best ambassadors, so all Prosper Canada fundraising activities are conducted by our permanent staff and volunteers – we do not outsource our fundraising.
Board volunteers are directly engaged with staff in shaping and overseeing our fundraising strategies and plans. We also actively help identify, evaluate, and engage prospective donors, solicit gifts, and acknowledge and thank our donors and volunteers.
In our broader stewardship role, we look for strategic opportunities and exercise effective financial stewardship of the resources we generate. We know the importance of the services that we and our partners provide to financially vulnerable Canadians, and this drives us in all that we do. We work with staff to ensure that Prosper Canada delivers on its brand promise through the quality of our research, the calibre and integrity of our people, and the impact of our programs. We ensure annual public reporting of our audited finances, activities, and impact, including tailored reporting to our donors.
Our stakeholders, donors and supporters can be confident that their donations are used only and always to advance our mission.
A promise to our donors:
We will protect your privacy
We will explain what we are doing and why
We will greet you warmly, check in regularly and provide updates in a timely fashion
We will show our sincere appreciation for your donation
We will share our audited financials on our website and recognition policy upon request
We will listen to your concerns and address them
