CLB signups are now easier than ever!
21 August 2018
SmartSAVER is excited to share that over 15,000 children have now accessed their Canada Learning Bonds through StartMyRESP. They expect that number to keep growing quickly as they’ve made some improvements.
Now, families can complete the form without entering Social Insurance Numbers for themselves or their children online. But they must have these when they visit their selected financial institution to complete their RESP/CLB applications. SmartSAVER has also added new partners to the application including Credit Unions of PEI and WealthSimple with more to come soon.
Continuing to simplify the process is essential to overcoming barriers to Canada Learning Bond take up. Kanata Financial demonstrated this through their work in Sandy Bay First Nation Reserve, in which their “one-stop” approach to accessing identification and benefits, including the CLB, helped hundreds of children and their families.
SmartSAVER helps Canadian families start saving for their children’s education with information on free government money and online access to get savings started. Learn more at
