Expanding financial empowerment for Black Canadians

Prosper Canada is making a 5-year commitment to expanding financial empowerment services for Black Canadians living on low incomes.

This project is being led in partnership with SEED Winnipeg and Brian Smith.

Our goals are to:

  1. To deepen our understanding of the opportunities for Black Canadians to use financial empowerment services to achieve greater financial health and security.
  2. To support existing efforts across Canada, identify areas for collaboration and, if appropriate, co-create strategies to expand financial empowerment services for Black Canadians.
Free courses available

Starting February 2024, staff from Black-led and Black-serving organizations will have free access to our Foundations of Financial Empowerment and Financial Literacy for Facilitators course.

Please reach out to c.heeseboutin@prospercanada.org for more information and to get access.

This project is currently funded by the Definity Foundation.
