Webinar: High cost lending in Canada - Regulations, recommendations, and alternatives
21 September 2017
Join us on
October 4, 2017 from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. (EDT)
for a free webinar about high cost lending in Canada. Thousands of Canadians rely on fringe financial products like payday loans each year. These kind of lending products can be accessed faster than traditional forms of credit, but at a much higher cost in fees compared to mainstream lending rates. In this webinar, Jerry Buckland from Canadian Mennonite University and Courtney Hare from Momentum will explain why these high cost lending products are concerning, especially for financially vulnerable Canadians, what is driving them, what kind of regulations are involved, and what advocacy and financial product solutions could look like.
