The Canada Social Report
1 February 2016
By Anne Makhoul, Principal Project Officer, Caledon Institute of Social Policy
The Caledon Institute of Social Policy launched the Canada Social Report initiative in June 2015 (
www.canadasocialreport.ca
). It is intended to act as a national hub of social policy information. The Canada Social Report features both Caledon-developed reports like Welfare in Canada – that picks up where the now disbanded National Council of Welfare left off – and links to vital sources of social policy-related data and reports published by other organizations.
January 2016 saw the introduction of two new areas – “Disabilities” and “Poverty and Inequality.” Developed in consultation with experts and users alike, the Canada Social Report welcomes input and content contribution.
