Submission to the Ontario government consultation on Ontario Retirement Pension Plan (ORRP)

This month, Prosper Canada CEO, Liz Mulholland, participated in a public consultation on the design of the Ontario government’s proposed Ontario Retirement Pension Plan (ORPP), a new mandatory pension plan for working Ontarians that will  closely mirror and augment Canada’s longstanding national pension plan, the CPP.  Welcomed by Associate Finance Minister, Mitzie Hunter, participants were invited to respond to five Key Design Questions. Liz shared five recommendations focused on minimizing potential downsides for low-income Ontarians and ensuring all seniors enjoy a minimum income adequate to meet their basic needs and afford them a life of dignity and full social inclusion.
