SEDI is now Prosper Canada

28 March 2014
We’re very pleased to announce that Social and Enterprise Development Innovations (SEDI) is now Prosper Canada.

While our mission remains the same – expanding economic opportunity for Canadians living in poverty through program and policy innovation – we believe our new identity better conveys the efforts we’re making to help more Canadians to prosper.

Building on our work in the areas of financial literacy and asset building, we’re developing and advancing a broader range of proven financial empowerment approaches. Working with organizations and service systems in all sectors, we’re building these approaches into businesses in ways that are sustainable, help them achieve their goals, and measurably increase the financial well-being of the low-income people they serve.

We believe that, through these efforts, more Canadians living in poverty will attain greater prosperity benefiting their communities and the country as a whole.

Our Canadian Centre for Financial Literacy will continue its work to improve the financial knowledge and well-being of vulnerable Canadians through access to quality financial information, education and counselling, but under a new name – the Prosper Canada Centre for Financial Literacy.
