Congratulations to Daisy Wai, MPP!

Daisy Wai, a former Prosper Canada (then SEDI) program participant and Board member, was elected Member of Provincial Parliament in the Ontario electoral district of Richmond Hill on June 7th. 
 

An award-winning entrepreneur who launched her first Canadian business as a member of Prosper Canada’s Self-Employment Benefit program, Daisy was also an active community volunteer who went on to serve on Prosper Canada’s Board of Directors, as chairperson of the Richmond Hill Chamber of Commerce, president of the Richmond Hill and Markham Chinese Business Association, and member of the York Regional Police Services Board.
 

Daisy has received many awards for her business achievements and her public service, including the Richmond Hill Chamber of Commerce Business Achievement Award, the Ontario Chamber of Commerce Award of Merit, the York Region in Celebration for Women Marketing Award, the Chinese Canadian Entrepreneurs Award, the Queen Elizabeth Golden Jubilee Memorial Medal, and the Town of Richmond Hill’s Volunteer Achievement Award.
