Webinar: Tax filing supports - Alternatives to tax clinics
11 October 2016
On November 30, 2016 from 1:00 PM - 2:30 PM (EST), we’ll hear from three community organizations in Canada about the strategies they use to support tax filing in alternative approaches to the tax clinic – both at tax time and year round. These speakers will address year-round tax filing support using volunteer and staff delivery models, and the use of drop-in/drop-off filing at tax time.
Tax filing is an important way for Canadians living on low incomes to access income-boosting tax benefits and credits. Many community organizations rely on tax clinics to help people living on low incomes to access this, but there are other strategies used either in combination with tax time clinics, or as part of their year-round service delivery.
Speakers from:
The Bissell Centre, Edmonton, AB
West Neighbourhood House, Toronto, ON
The Working Centre, Kitchener-Waterloo, ON
We will be live tweeting during the webinar using the hashtag #taxfiling.
